Concrete pavements are used wherever required resistance to high loads, eg. storage areas, maneuvering places, industrial plants. The rigid structure of concrete pavement eliminates the phenomenon of deformation when compared to the asphalt concrete pavements, and is characterized by an extended period of operation. Properly designed concrete roads are characterized by high frost and abrasion resistance, obtained by appropriate cements, broken aggregates and aeration additives. Often polypropylene fibers are added, limiting concrete shrinkage during bonding, to prevent surface cracking conditions and steel fibers replacing the traditional reinforcement of concrete, which helps to match the surface to the environmental conditions. Surfaces of squares and roads can be made in both classical smooth finish, or in non-slip in so-called broom. In addition, to increase the strength parameters and the tightness of the top layer of concrete we can use dry shake topping DST. Squares, roads, parking lots, bus bays and other concrete surfaces do not have to be dull and boring. Thanks to the technology of color DST and stamped concrete it is possible to obtain very interesting, functional and durable surfaces. It should be remembered that the high durability of concrete pavements makes them non-separable, which makes some difficulties in the case of underground networks failure.
